Muscle Work: Is a group of therapies that reduces contracted fascia, the connective tissue that surrounds and lines the bodies muscles. Fascia responses to injuries and traumas by shortening the muscle to prevent further movement and reducing pain (scar tissue). Muscle work allows these fibers to move and relieve tension, this will then allow the musculoskeletal system to have better range of motion and functionality. If function is restored, pain will be decreased.
Muscle Therapy: combines manipulation and movement to treat soft tissues by identifying, isolating, and targeting the affected area to break up scar tissue (by Hand).
Gau sha: Gua sha is a traditional Chinese healing method in which a trained professional uses a smooth-edged tool to stroke your skin while they press on it. This motion raises small, red, rash-like dots that show under your skin called petechiae.Doctors use gua sha to treat chronic pain all over the body. They often do it alongside other complementary treatments like herbal medicine
Dry Needling [DN]:is an effective muscle therapy used to treat muscular tension and spasm which commonly accompanies conditions such as arthritis, nerve irritation, muscular strain, ligament strains and herniated discs. DN uses a small, solid filament "dry" (without liquid solution) needle which is inserted in a contracted muscle to create a local twitch reflex which is both diagnostic and therapeutic as it is the first step in breaking the pain cycle.
Active Care: The patient is included in their treatment— giving patient’s control over their own healing process.. It addresses underlying causative issues like poor posture while sitting at a computer or driving, poor patterns of lifting and bending, in-coordination in movement, muscle weakness, poor cardio-vascular fitness, poor balance and general deconditioning — the patient has an opportunity to get better and to maintain a home program that keeps them better.
Kinesio tape: Recruits blood vessels that helps place blood flow where the tape is applied. The result is increased oxygen and decreased inflammation and swelling. The tape can also be used to help the body’s lymphatic system drain waste
